Earlier 2020, the Office for Civil Rights (“OCR”) at the U.S. Department of Education announced new Title IX requirements defining sexual harassment in federal regulations for the first time and governing sexual harassment complaints and investigations. The new standards outline comprehensive notice and procedural requirements schools must follow when responding to sexual harassment claims from both students and employees.
