- Exceptional classroom management and instructional strategies
- Experience with or knowledge of using data to drive instruction

- Exceptional knowledge of subject matter
- Desire to be part of a team that works hard and demands flexibility, enthusiasm, and team work
- Minnesota licensure in area applying

Music/band teacher
Cologne Academy seeks a part-time (.7 FTE) Music/Band Teacher for the 2012-13 school year.
The ideal candidate will possess both licenses to teach music and band in a K-8 setting. This position is a permanent position teaching in a Core Knowledge Sequence based charter school (K thru Grade 8).

Spanish teacher
Cologne Academy seeks a part-time (.7 FTE) Spanish Teacher for the 2012-13 school year.
The ideal candidate will be licensed in World Languages and Cultures K-12 (Spanish). This position is a permanent position teaching in a Core Knowledge Sequence based charter school (K thru Grade 8).

English/Language Arts Middle School
- 3-5 years experience teaching middle school English/Language Arts
- Experience or interest in taking leadership among other Middle School teachers
- Experience or interest in facilitating Seminar, Paideia, or Success Inquiry discussions around text
- A love and passion for teaching classical text in addition to contemporary text
- A comprehensive, systematic method to teaching writing skills, in particular essay writing
- An understanding of the social/emotional development of middle school students
- Experience with and/or knowledge of the Core Knowledge curriculum
- Knowledge and experience mapping curriculum
- Ability to write rigorous assessments that challenge student achievement
